It’s great to see more and more production ready electric vehicles hit the market like this i-MiEV (Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle). i-MiEV has a roomy interior for four adults and a sensible range of upwards of 100 miles from its advanced lithium-ion battery pack. Get me a fleet for my eco-friendly Taxi company!
i-MiEV doesn’t look that bad, kinda like a VW bug or a Yaris, and performance includes an ultra-quiet permanent magnet synchronous motor and a powerfully efficient lithium-ion battery pack that can be quick-charged up to 80 percent of capacity in as little as 30 minutes. An onboard charger accepts 110V (12-14 hour full-charge time) or 220V in half that time.

The Aptera 2e fully electric vehicle is for real and will be available October of this year. Recently Edmunds.com released a video from the Aptera’s San Diego facility along with more information on this safe and fun electric car of the future. Unfortunately we at the greenerist have an Aptera 2h (plug-in hybrid) version reserved which probably won’t be out until 2011, but in the meantime we’ll keep you posted on the Aptera 2e so enjoy the video!

Who said an all electric motorcycle couldn’t be fast and sexy? Check out the Mission One, it has a top speed of 150 MPH, 100 LBS of torque and can run for 150 miles before it needs another 2 hour charge. This zero emissions super bike also has regenerative braking and even though it cost under $2 to fill up with electricity, it will cost you about $69,000 upfront to pick one up!

Lemeneo Smera is another tandem style electric car, similar to our Tango post. What makes Smera different is that it aims at being the luxury tandem electric car. It has a practical size trunk that can hold 3 laptop bags on floor. And the cockpit offers a panoramic look around the entire vehicle. Price is expected to be around $40,000.

A2B is a light electric vehicle with the heart of a bicycle and the soul of a scooter. This fun, stylish bike with pedals has an electric motor that can reach 20mph and has a range of 20 miles per charge.

The Vectrix is a high performance electric maxi-scooter that goes 0-50 mph in 6.8 seconds. There seems to be a growing number of electric scooters/motorcycles like the EVC Electric Motorcycle we posted a couple of weeks ago, however there’s a $1500 consumer rebate in California for anyone who purchases an electric Vectrix scooter.

Triac can reach a top speed of 80mph and a driving range of 100 miles per charge. This zero-emissions, pure electric vehicle may be ready for purchase in July 2008 from Green Vehicles. Besides being the coolest looking, affordable electric vehicle available this summer. Some of the things we like about Triac is that you can ride in the carpool lane and it can plug into a regular wall socket and charge in 6 hours.

The vision of Project Better Place (PBP) is an oil-free and healthier future by providing electric vehicles to replace public taxis and delivery vehicles in a metro area. Currently the State of Israel and Renault-Nissan have become the first major partnership to begin mass deployment of electric cars.
